Located at the 5 and 134 freeways, the Zoo is home to 1,200 rare and endangered mammals, reptiles and birds. Highlights: Campo Gorilla Reserve, Sea Life Cliffs; Winnick Family Children’s Zoo; Red Ape Rain Forest and Chimps of Mahale Mountains. Picnicking permitted.

In addition, our new Rainforest of the Americas exhibit will be completed with a brand-new home for our jaguars. The L.A. Zoo is home to over 1,100 animals, representing 250 species on 113 beautiful acres. In addition, the Zoo’s botanical collection comprises several planted gardens and over 800 different plant species with over 7,400 individual plants.
